Thi kendes for ret

Court Set

The exhibition covers 15 images in a series of people who in one way or another are judged by the public, including David Owe and Jan Linnebjerg.

The exhibition is called “On those grounds the court” and covers in addition to the above also myself as a person, I, as a photographer, put myself on public display, instead of being the more anonymous part behind the camera.

The project deals with the unfair contact of the public and the press with individuals. And the labeling is being permanently to the individual who is being at risk of becoming stuck in an imaginary or volatile part. Or for some roles that are less current but by no means define them as humans.

I do not think Jens Andersen think that the role as Polle from Snave in 10 years define him as an actor. Or David Owe think’s that a CD made at the request of Sony defines his trademark as an actor. And who do actually have the right to be judges in this situation and continue to keep somebody stuck in a role.

The question is: Would you think it was funny that the things that happened to you in your life would define the remaining part of life? Even very hard criminals are given the opportunity for rehabilitation. Why does it not consider everyone else who in addition to them has not committed any crime?

In my frustration on people’s need to put others in boxes and keep them in old roles like those they have long since outgrown, came this exhibit. Here, the individual gets accused of what people think of them, have a mug shoot taken, and gets judged for what they really are. Let us move on and allow them to rehabilitate.

Selv meget svære forbrydere får mulighed for rehabilitering.
